Wildflowers of the Nissitissit

A phoebe launches off a tree branch and captures a dragonfly midair; pollen covered bees flit amongst the goldenrod; water striders skate across the surface, as trout fry swim just below. This is riverside on the Nissitissit, which meanders a mere nine miles from Potanipo Pond in Brookline NH to the Nashua River in Pepperell MA. Thanks to the conservation efforts of many individuals and organizations the Nissitissit is largely unspoiled, and offers up a spectacular array of wildflowers - the subject of my current project.
